What is Alignment Yoga?
Alignment Yoga is a deliberate and steady practice focused on precise body positioning to enhance strength, mobility, flexibility, and balance. This approach allows practitioners to build a solid foundation, addressing imbalances and promoting long-term physical health.
Rooted in the principles of Iyengar Yoga, a style developed by B.K.S. Iyengar from Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga, Alignment Yoga emphasizes accessibility for all body types. It seeks to realign the body through the use of props, which are now widely used across various yoga styles. Props such as blocks, bricks and straps make postures more accessible and adaptable, allowing each individual to experience the benefits of yoga in a way that suits their unique body structure and needs.
By focusing on alignment, practitioners can deepen their connection to each posture, making the practice safer and more effective, whether you are a beginner or an experienced yoga teacher.
Why join this training?

About me, Ciara
I am a Senior Yoga Teacher, and I’ve been teaching yoga since 2013. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of students — from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners — in diverse settings, including gyms, studios, charities, retreats, spas, workplaces, and private one-on-one sessions. My teaching journey has also taken me to India, where I assisted in a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, further deepening my knowledge and experience.
My passion for proper alignment stems from personal experience. I used to be weak in my muscles and unstable in my joints which gave me a false sense of flexibility – something I often observe in yoga practitioners and teachers. Through dedicated alignment practice, I have transformed my body and I am now strong in my muscles and joints with healthy flexibility.
I bring a keen eye for detail and precision to my teaching, and I am 100% committed to helping you become a more confident, effective, and safer yoga teacher.
